Present in our country since pre-Hispanic times, the molcajete is one of the oldest Mexican utilitarian objects.
Our molcajete is a variation on the traditional design, complemented by a wooden base that functions as a tortilla holder when the sauce is ready and brought to the table.
Material: Made of gray volcanic stone with small pinkish or sometimes slightly green nuances carved made by artisans from Cuexotitlán, State of Mexico and Tzalam wood on a lathe made by artisans from the State of Mexico.
Care recommendations: Wash with plenty of water and very little soap. Soap is not essential as it is absorbed and can stain the material.
During washing you can rub it with a cloth, avoid rubbing or scrubbing too much: do not use hard bristle brushes. Ideally let dry in the sun.
